I co-founded this startup. I was in charge of defining the software architecture to develop ML workflows to process field-collected multimedia data. My main achievement was the development of software packages and user-friendly dashboards. These were used by members of local communities in the field, biologists and data analysts in our team.
I developed, implemented and deployed a large-scale satellite image processing software system for producing land cover maps from natural regions. I led workshops for its use in Mexican institutions, but also capacity building in other Latin American countries. The resulting maps and statistics were used to track deforestation rates for Mexican national reports.

I taught for 10 years after completing my masters degree in Data Science there. Besides the published thesis, collaboration with my students generated customer products (via its data center), git repositories and a textbook on Optimization and Software Engineering. Some of my students later joined me as full employees at CONABIO and biometrio.earth.

These projects are what motivates me for continue growing and learning. Almost all my personal projects have been either used by the community or I have used them in my jobs. Some relate to mobile and web apps while others are purely mathematical. One example is this website you're reading. I'm keen to learn more in fields related with Math, Tech, Nature and Social.
